Who's Eligible
- Monument Mountain Regional High School Students
Country Eligibility
- Official language other than English. English as one of multiple official languages is acceptable.
- The applicant must spend at least 10 days in the host country, preference is given to trips 30 days and longer.
About the Award
The Just Plane Fare Award is available for international travel during the summer of 2009. The winner will be directly awarded round trip airfare; no monetary payment will be made.
Deadline
There is no official deadline for this award, however early applications have better chances of winning.
Notification
The winning applicant will be notified on or before the day of the Monument Mountain Regional High School awards assembly.

The format of the application is open, you may send a traditional written application, video application, or interactive application.

Project Proposal
Applicants must submit a project proposal as part of the application. The project proposal is open to anything (community service, art, study, research, genealogy). The winner will be required to present their project to the community upon return and to create a substantial tangible creative artifact (essay, movie, poem, blog, etc) during the course of the trip.
The requirements for the project proposal are purposefully vague and non-restrictive, thoughtful and creative projects that do some good for the world will be most favorable. The point of the project proposal is that the winner must do something while abroad.

John Britton graduated from Monument Mountain Regional High School in 2004. After graduation he continued his academic career at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. Through the generous support of numerous endowments, grants, and scholarships he was able to travel to over twenty countries while in school.
